Pipeline valves

Pipeline valves are devices that control the opening and closing of pipelines and are used to regulate the direction, pressure and flow of fluids in fluid systems. They are widely used in refrigeration, air conditioning, light industry, shipbuilding, petrochemical, food, medicine and other industries.

Function

The main function of pipeline valves is to control the flow of fluids, including isolating equipment and pipeline systems, regulating flow, preventing backflow, regulating and draining pressure. ‌

Pipeline valves are control elements in fluid pipeline systems, and they control the flow of fluids by opening or closing. Specifically, their functions include:

1. Isolating equipment and pipeline systems: By closing the valve, a certain equipment or pipeline system can be effectively isolated for easy maintenance or replacement.

2. Regulating flow: By adjusting the degree of opening of the valve, the flow of the fluid can be controlled to meet different flow requirements.

3. Preventing backflow: Some valves are designed to prevent reverse flow of fluids and protect equipment and systems from damage by reverse pressure or fluid.

4. Regulating and draining pressure: Through specific valves, such as drain valves, exhaust valves, filters, etc., the pressure in the system can be regulated and drained to ensure the safe operation of the system.

5. Pipeline valves are a special type of valve that combines the functions of joints, plugs and stop valves in the water supply system into one. They can be used as plugs for water pressure tests and do not need to be removed after being buried. They can also be used as pipe joints to connect faucets or other water-using equipment. They can also be used as automatic stop valves to facilitate the replacement or disassembly of vulnerable parts (such as faucets and water purifiers).

Pipeline valves sealing

The sealing of valves is an important indicator to measure their functions and quality. However, the problem of valve internal leakage seriously threatens the normal operation of the entire engineering device, because it is difficult to detect whether there is internal leakage in the operating valve. The reasons for internal leakage may include the sealing surface material of the valve plate and valve seat not meeting the use requirements, insufficient processing accuracy, mismatched wedge angles of the valve plate and valve seat of the gate valve, different widths of the sealing surface, poor fit, and the gate plate not being in place.

Classification

Ball Valve: A ball valve is a valve that controls the flow of liquid or gas by rotating the ball. Its main working principle is to open, close or adjust the flow of the medium by rotating the ball. The opening and closing part of the ball valve is a sphere with a hole, which rotates around the axis perpendicular to the channel to achieve the purpose of opening and closing the channel.

Butterfly Valve: A butterfly valve is a simple regulating valve, mainly used for the switch control of low-pressure pipeline media. The closing part (valve disc or butterfly plate) of the butterfly valve is a disc that rotates around the valve axis to achieve opening and closing. This type of valve mainly cuts off and throttles the pipeline, and is suitable for controlling air, water, steam, various corrosive media, mud, oil, etc. The opening and closing part of the butterfly valve is a disc-shaped butterfly plate, which rotates around its own axis in the valve body to achieve the purpose of opening and closing or regulating. ‌

‌Check valve‌: A check valve is a valve used to prevent liquid or gas from flowing in the pipeline in the reverse direction. ‌ It is usually installed at the outlet of the pipeline to ensure that the fluid can only flow in one direction. The main function of the check valve is to prevent the backflow of the medium, prevent the pump and its driving motor from reversing, and the discharge of the medium in the container. ‌
