Connection method

The connection methods of HDPE pipe fittings mainly include hot melt connection, mechanical connection, electrofusion connection, socket connection, and heat-shrinkable connection.

 

Hot melt connection is through the heating of HDPE pipe ends to a certain temperature, the use of a heating plate or hot air gun to soften the two ends and melt, fast connection and pressurized to maintain, after cooling to form a solid connection. This method is suitable for HDPE pipes with large diameters and has the advantages of high connection strength, good sealing, and high tensile strength.

 

The mechanical connection includes mechanical bolt connection and bite-type connection. Mechanical bolt connection utilizes bolts and clamps to clamp the two ends of the pipe and fixes the two sections of the pipe through fastening nuts. Bite type connection is to put two sections of pipe into the connector, through the pressure to make the connector firmly clamped pipe to form a connection. Mechanical connections are suitable for small-diameter HDPE pipelines and have the advantages of simple construction and removable connections.

 

Electrofusion connection utilizes special electrofusion fittings to connect HDPE pipes. In the pipe ends processed electrofusion threads, the electrofusion fittings are inserted into the ends and heated, so that the pipe and fittings inside the material melt fusion, after cooling to form a connection. This method is suitable for high-pressure pipelines, chemical delivery pipelines, etc. Advantages include high connection strength, good sealing, and rapid molding.

 

A socket connection is to insert a section of pipe into another section of pipe and connect the two sections of pipe through a special socket sleeve. It is suitable for small-diameter HDPE pipes, with the advantages of easy connection, low cost, and high connection strength.
